Collaborators
Our people can be your valuable asset...
Mary Sokolowski, Ph.D.
I am the lead collaborator for most projects. Based on the project and the needs of a client, I put together a team from my network of colleagues. At heart I am a networker, someone who likes to connect people from a range of professional and personal backgrounds to help create and sustain vibrant communities.
Professionally, I am a professor, writer, and editor. I have also worked as a lobbyist, academic administrator, fund raiser, sommelier, and newspaper delivery girl. I am an amateur cook, pie-maker, fisherman, and gardener. I am now career shifting, again, and I look forward to going back to school with the goal of attaining a second bachelor's degree and becoming a nurse.
I received my doctorate in English from the State University of New York at Binghamton. I worked as an administrator at SUNY, establishing the university’s federal relations office and helping to secure over $20 million in state and federal research funding. I came to Rhode Island to continue my work in community and government relations. I currently serve as an adjunct faculty member at a number of different colleges and university while working part-time as an editor for the International Journal of Occupational and Environmental Health.
My interests and experiences are very eclectic and while I have been more of a casual participant in some pursuits, I have achieved a high degree of mastery in others. If you want to see the whole range of credentials, take a look at my resume/CV.
